Looking for a fun, free, and educational way to enjoy winter with the kids? Bundle up and head to Veasey Park for the Friends of Veasey Winter Festival, a family-friendly afternoon packed with learning, hands-on activities, and seasonal fun.

Taking place on Sunday, January 25, from 12:00–3:00 PM, this special winter festival invites families to explore the fascinating world of wild winter mammals with expert educators from North Shore Nature Programs.

Learn About Wild Winter Mammals — For All Ages

This engaging, kid-friendly program is designed for learners of all ages. Through real animal artifacts, interactive activities, and a short guided hike, participants will discover how mammals survive and thrive during the winter months. Kids will enjoy learning how to identify animal tracks, understand animal behavior, and explore what it truly means for humans and wildlife to coexist—especially during colder seasons.

Hands-On, Educational, and Fun

The program is thoughtfully designed to be accessible, fun, and educational, making it a great option for families with a wide range of ages. Two back-to-back sessions will be offered:

  • 1:00–1:45 PM
  • 1:45–2:30 PM

Families can also enjoy free admission, refreshments, and games, making this a perfect winter outing without the pressure of tickets or advance planning.
