About The Publisher: Cheryl Lachendro

Head Shot

Hello, my wonderful Macaroni Kid community,

I am absolutely delighted—and deeply honored—to step in as your publisher.

My journey with Macaroni Kid began seven and a half years ago when a fellow publisher welcomed me into the Burlington, MA edition. Having grown up in Burlington, it felt like returning to my roots—sharing events, uplifting local businesses, and connecting families in the community that helped shape me.

Fast forward two years, and a new opportunity blossomed when the Wakefield publisher was ready to pass the torch. Taking on that second site brought me closer to home in Georgetown, and then—like magic—Macaroni Kid North Shore MA opened the door even wider. Now, becoming the publisher of Macaroni Kid Merrimack Valley brings me all the way home. It feels like a full-circle moment, placing me right in the heart of the community I love most.

I am diving into this new chapter with joy, gratitude, and a whole lot of excitement. I cannot wait to share adventures, celebrate local gems, and shine a spotlight on all the family fun happening in our vibrant towns!

πŸ’• A Little About Me & My Family

πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦ I’ve been married to my husband, Kevin, for almost 18 years. We share two wonderful children: Caroline (27) and Kyle (11).
🏑 We live in Georgetown, MA—our happy place.
πŸ“š Before having Kyle, I taught in the Georgetown Public Schools.
🚴🏼‍♀️ Long before Peloton existed, I was teaching aerobics and Spinning™!
🌎 I love serving my community and proudly volunteer on the school committee and with various school groups.
🏰 We are Disney fanatics—from Mickey waffles to magical fireworks, we love it all!
🌊 The ocean is my sanctuary, and I’m grateful every day to live so close to it.
πŸ’βšΎοΈπŸ₯ I am my son’s biggest sports fan and cheer him on in every game, practice, and season.
πŸ‘©πŸ»‍🀝‍πŸ‘© Although I once considered myself shy, I now love bringing people together and making connections.
✨ I believe wholeheartedly in seeing life with a “glass half full” mindset and spreading smiles wherever I can.
πŸ’• And most importantly—I am nearing the end of a long, challenging journey with breast cancer. I’m excited to soon say I am officially a Breast Cancer Survivor.

🌟 What Comes Next

I am thrilled to continue the meaningful work —bringing you the best family events, activities, local discoveries, guides, giveaways, and joyful moments throughout the Merrimack Valley.

This community is special, and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
