Summer Family Fun Kick off the season with YMCA Family Nights

June 6, 2025

Throughout the year, the Merrimack Valley YMCA is hosting free events for families to connect, have fun, and build community at each of its branches in Andover, Lawrence, Methuen and Salem N.H.

On June 27, the Lawrence YMCA will host a free family party featuring a BBQ, family swim, cornhole, games and more. This event is open to the public. At the same time, the Andover/North Andover YMCA will kick off summer with a luau party open to families with a YMCA Household membership.

The Y’s Family Night series is presented thanks to a generous contribution from Commonwealth Motors.

“At the Merrimack Valley YMCA, we believe that strong families build strong communities,” said President and CEO Francis J. Kenneally III. “Our Family Night series is about building that connection and fostering a sense of belonging for all families. Thanks to the support from Commonwealth Motors, we are able to host more than a dozen family night events this year across our branches and camps.”

The Methuen YMCA will host a back-to-school bash on August 20 and a winter-themed Polar Express viewing party on December 3, both of which are open to the public. Campers at the Y’s Camp Otter and their families will be invited to a Family Night at camp in July.

The Andover/North Andover YMCA will host a member Family Night each month through December.

The Merrimack Valley YMCA serves thousands of families through health and wellness, sports, youth programs, child care, camp, and more.

“The Y has been a wonderful place for us because it's not just a gym and recreation center—it's a community,” said Deborah Lebl, a long-time Y family member. “The staff has been here a long time, and we've formed friendships with them. No matter what day it is, we can always stop in at the Y and have fun.”

Visit the Merrimack Valley YMCA website for full details on Family Night events including schedules and registration information.  Membership to the Y for families starts at just $38.50/month for Lawrence/Methuen branches and $98/month for the Andover/North Andover Branch.
